For more than 20 years, I built my career in supply chain and operations leadership with companies like FedEx and Amazon, leading teams ranging from 3 to 250 associates. Along the way, I earned FedEx's President's Club for Operations, led the launch of a dedicated 650,000-square-foot 3PL warehouse, and delivered measurable operational improvements through process excellence. I reduced cost per package by 25% and transformed a three-day processing operation into same-day shipping in just 30 days. On paper, life was good, and I had the experience and confidence to solve even the most complex operational challenges.
Then I began to notice a pattern.
